About Alex

Hello, my name is Alex and I was born in 1987 as an eccentric dreamer, visionary & tireless questioner in Berlin. After finishing High School I didn’t exactly know what to do. After a few errands I started studying photojournalism under Rolf Nobel at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts which is among the International Center of Photography in New York one of the most renowned places for visual storytelling in the world. So I was finally able to find my vocation as a freelance photojournalist and visual storyteller.

During my studies I started to photograph my first weddings and I immediately felt like thats my real passion. I always followed my dreams and I said myself once I will become one of the best wedding photographers capturing love all over the world. If you dream big, it will make you strong and let you focus on what really matters in your life. I would describe my style as natural wedding photojournalism with artistic visual storytelling. In my images I always try to find a beautiful order in the chaos of coincidence or as Henri-Cartier Bresson named it the decisive moment of photography.

To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.Henri-Cartier Bresson

I love my girlfriend because she loves me how I am and that she is open minded. I love that she asked me to go on vacation after being a couple for less than a month. She is fearless and brave and has a warm Spanish soul. We love to travel together with backpack and tent. We do a lot sport like yoga, hiking, mountain-biking, surfing and kayaking. Being together with her gives me so much energy for the hard job as photojournalist and wedding photographer.

Travel improves the mind wonderfully, and does away with all one’s prejudices.Oscar Wilde

I think Oscar Wilde gave me a very appropriate definition of what Wanderlust means to me when he wrote his fairy tail The Remarkable Rocket. We are all belong together as a human race. Even if we have political borders, love knows no reasons, no distance, no boundaries. Love knows no distinction of races, cultures, nationalities or religions. And thats what I figured out while traveling as a photojournalist, telling the stories of unknown people. In the end I found friends all over the world.
